Do you mean the 5% deposit? Or 5% of the approx 10% deposit?

Either way, who is going to provide it? And what do they get in return for the risk they take on that you may not meet your payments?

And once this scheme helps more people move out of renting and into home ownership how will it not incrementally bid up the price of housing in a similar way to Help to Buy?

How does the scheme cash out of its equity?

I share your frustrations. I purchased my first house at 37.
